We are now "officially" a foster family. It seems that everytime I go to some big foster parent gathering there are always about 20 of those HUGE 12-15 passenger vans. I always felt left out, as if to be "official" I had to have one of those, so now we do! (but not for that reason) We had just bought the Dodge Grand Caravan in November when we had our house on the market and thought that we would be downsizing and not doing foster care anymore. Which meant that we would all fit in the Dodge. Then God made it clear that we were meant to adopt ALL the babies in our care now, which meant that we were 2 seats short in the Dodge! Jessica and Jadin always had to double buckle and Josiah had to sit on my lap or the floor. I definitely didn't like the thought that I always had to put one child's life at risk to go into town. With our upcoming vacation trip to Disneyland (and taking Sarah with us), there was no way we could make the trip in the Caravan. We HAD to have a new van! We went back to the same salesman who sold us the Caravan (he's awesome) and he and his buyer searched for over a week to find us our van! I had no idea that they were so scarce! (Actually, they are out there but only for your families weight in GOLD! We got one for our weight in aluminum!) (??) I had asked for a 15 passenger so that we could take out the back seat and have extra storage. It is SO NICE! And my awesome QUAD stroller fits in the back now too. God is SO good to us. We are truly BLESSED! Our new, "official bus" is a 2004 Ford E350. Only 53,000 miles on it. Comes with a duct taped drivers door mirror. Really quite unique. :-) I also had to purchase a very sweet window decal for it, to add to the "official"-ness of it all. And to top it all off, we are only paying $60 more a month for it than our Dodge! Blessed indeed!!
